CMSD Clark PreK-8 School
In the heart of a dense urban neighborhood, this new three-story PK–8 school reimagines what a learning environment can be. Designed for 675 students, the building weaves academics, arts, wellness, and community into one cohesive campus. From playgrounds and outdoor classrooms to a gym and dining area that welcome the community after hours, every space was planned to serve both students and neighbors.
Inside, learning comes alive through a project lab, art and dance rooms, a media center, and a scratch-cooking kitchen that fuels healthy choices with fresh fruit and vegetable bars. The design itself tells a story; graffiti-inspired graphics and bold murals reflect the neighborhood’s energy, while large street-level windows connect the school to the city around it.
Safety and sustainability are at the core, with secure entries, separated wings, energy-efficient systems, and water-saving fixtures all supporting a LEED Silver goal. The result is a vibrant, welcoming hub where creativity, security, and community thrive together. RPMI served as the architect of record.
